First created in 2022 as part of the Jean Monnet House cultural programme and supported since its inception, "Women and Europe” explores European women’s long-standing commitment to peace and equality.
By combining mythological narratives and foundational texts on gender equality (Treaty of Rome, Declaration of Athens, Convention of Istanbul), by engaging in dialogue with works by European female composers such as Mel Bonnis, Marie Jaëll, Adolpha Le Beau, by delving into the archives of European women who were involved in promoting gender equality and peace, the Italian cellist Silvia Lenzi and the French actress Sophie Bourel trace the construction of a Europe of women.
On 9 December, La Minutieuse will present a renewed version of the piece, specially created for the conference "Women and peace : in the steps of Bertha VON SUTTNER - What legacy, what prospects?" in The Hague.
